Separation anxiety

Dogs are companion animals and have lived along side humans for thousands years. Most prefer the company of others and being alone is not natural to them.

Separation anxiety is where a dog cannot stand being on there own and can be quite terrifying to them.


  • Howling

  • Barking

  • Destroying furniture

  • Chewing

  • Scratching floor

  • Urinating

  • Defecating

Here are five tips for dealing with separation anxiety

  1. Before leaving house take your dog for a walk

  2. Don't make any fuss when leaving so your dogs thinks that leaving is no big deal

  3. Say good bye to your dog long before you leave

  4. Stay calm and ignore your dog before you leave

  5. Start small and just leave your dog alone for just five minutes
